The BL genre is growing fast, and many new production companies specialising in BL content have sprung up across conservative Asia. While BL dramas, on the surface, focus on male-male relationships, they’re usually targeted at the female audience, and are generally different from the ‘gay drama’ label which deals with real struggles of the LGBTQ community.
